Drawing holiday to the Acropolis, Athens – 31st October 2019

 

Do join me on this amazing drawing holiday to Athens, Greece –  31st October to 4th November 2019

Over a long weekend you will have the opportunity to draw the breathtaking, ancient Greek monuments of the Acropolis plus the beautiful statues and artefacts in the Acropolis museum

There will be draped models to draw in and around the Acropolis including capturing Athenian life in the foothills of the Acropolis including Plaka and Monastiraki

Myself and Helle Foy who lives in Greece are organising this very exciting, long weekend here are more details:

This holiday will concentrate on drawing architecture, sculpture, cafe life (reportage) the clothed figure and portraiture, all sessions are fully tutored

Thursday 31 October – flight from Gatwick – there is a choice of flights, (you have the option of booking an early one to enjoy more time in Athens)

Friday 1st November – Guided tour of Acropolis Museum, followed by sketching in the museum.  Group evening meal.

Saturday  2nd November – Guided tour of the Acropolis to include the Agora followed by sketching and painting on the Acropolis.

Sunday 3rd November – Painting and Drawing Athenian life in the foot hills of the Acropolis in the area of Plaka (the city’s old town) and Monastiraki. Group evening meal. With option to display Art work.

Monday 4th November – Opportunity for some morning shopping/sightseeing before evening flight home. (Suggestion to book an evening flight to have the day in Athens)

 

COSTS

All tuition – £350 to Debbie

Accommodation – £320(suggestion only) – we would suggest ‘The Artist’ Hotel, an urban oasis residence in the heart of Athens https://www.theartistathens.com/

Prices are not available on the website yet, a ball park figure is £320 for 4 nights for bed and breakfast

You can choose your accommodation, maybe an Airbnb would be more cost effective, all we ask is that you are near The Acropolis

Flights£220(approximate) – There are many flights from Gatwick to Athens, British Airways, Easyjet and Aegean all operate flights from Gatwick

Entrance to Acropolis – 20 euros

Entrance to Acropolis museum – 6 euros

Tour guide – 60 to 80 euros x 2 (divided by 6 people for instance) – 27 euros each

TOTAL

To include tuition, accommodation, flights, entrance to the Acropolis and the Acropolis museum and tour guides – very approximate £943 (this is based on top end accommodation at The Artist hotel, cheaper options definitely available )
